Redtail Grove
Redtail Grove Natural Area, Fort Collins, CO. Redtail Grove is the most recent of the city's natural areas to be opened to the public. It is located in the south part of the city on the west side of College Avenue. The opening of this 1.7 mile section of the Fossil Creek bike trail connects the Cathy Fromme Prairie on the west to the Fossil Creek series of parks and open space to the east of College Avenue. This was the final section connecting 36 miles of bike trails in the city. The key to the project was constructing a railroad underpass. GOCO Colorado, with proceeds from the Colorado lottery, provided a substantial portion of the funds for this important project.
